End of 2008 and January Gig Announcements

Posted by Lee Category: News

It’s been a very big year for the Axis of Awesome, and while I look through the comments pending moderation on our website (there seems to be a lot of very positive comments from the online gambling world, which is nice) and reminisce about 2008, here’s a few updates on Axis happenings in coming weeks.

  • December 29th and 30th we’re the house band for “That Was The Year That Was” at the Sydney Opera House. We’re also performing 3 of our own songs and closing the show with a big finale number, so check out www.sydneyoperahouse.com.au for tickets and info!
  • January 1st we’re playing in the Further Afield Tent at Field Day in the Domain. The show is sold out, but if you’re there check us out at 2.00pm (yes we’re pretty happy to be scheduled at what is known world-over as the best time to perform at a music festival)
  • January 5th we’ll be headlining the Fringe Bar in Paddington, one of our favouritest gigs.
  • And on January 30th we’re very happy to announce we’ll be celebrating our 2 year anniversary at the Roxbury Hotel, with a Great Big Fuck-Off Show (name still TBC). We’re in the process of confirming our support acts, and we should also have some brand new merch to sell. Tickets will be on sale very soon, keep your peepers on the website for more info.

That’s all for now, but I’m sure there’ll be more to come. Have a happy and safe and happy New Year, Love from the Axis
